Born to a young couple in Texas in 1968, her mother dying shortly after Hailey's birth. Her father became an alcoholic, and young Hailey grew up with his emotional guilt, and abuse, struggling to nurture and care for him, in addition to school, and her growing passion for music.

In highschool, she got a job in a clinic in the town, working for extra money to help with bills and music lessons, in the meantime, picking up a bit of knowledge in first aid, and basic medicine. By the time Hailey finished highschool, she was playing in small clubs on the weekends for a bit of money, but mostly for experience performing. She was limited in the rural area, however, there not being much of an audience for anything than country music in the few local bars. She wanted to leave, and pursue music education on the east or west coast, but her father kept her at home, with his manipulation and guilt, and worsening physical condition. So, she went to a local college, studying music there, despite her father's protests and criticism, and excelling, until she graduated with her bachelors of arts at 22. That very summer, her father was killed in a driving accident, having run off the road and into a tree.

Saddened, but finally independant, Hailey sold what meager posessions they had, and went to New York, determined to make it or break it with her music there. Having studied some acting as well, she pounded the pavement, doing auditions on Broadway, and going to various clubs to look for work. The young naive country girl stayed in fleabag motels, subsisting on one meal a day, but somehow managing to maintain a sunny disposition, seeing her future as filled with hope and opportunity. It was one such day, when she met Serena, a prestigous member of the jet set, and club owner.

Serena took to Hailey, after she heard her rehearse for the club, the girls' sultry, soul filled voice and talents on the guitar and piano drawing the Toreador's attention. She used her presence and noteriety to seduce Hailey, the impressionable girl caught in an ancient trap, and soon having her lifeblood quite literally drained away by the 4th generation vampire.

Through the ten years following her embrace, however, Hailey was exposed to much turmoil. Her sire was a very old and bitter woman, desperate for affection, but incapable of nurturing it. Hailey adored her, and to her, Serena could do no wrong, though the ravages of stress left their mark on her heart. Still, Hailey determined that there could be love in this unlife, and innocence...and vowed never to let go of either. This was something that, at the beginning, amused Serena, but began to bother her after a while, to the point that she asked Hailey how she could possibly retain so much humanity, when she saw such pain and bitterness around her all the time.

Despite this, she retained her hope and faith in Serena, and the Camarilla, though she made a friend that she met at the nightclub, a beautiful Setite by the name of Fire Draven. It was the beginning of an oddly matched, but extremely close friendship, and more. The two caused heads to turn in the New York club, when Draven would come and dance with her, engaged in a dance of emotion as well, however unknown to the naive Hailey at the time.

Hailey tried, so hard to please Serena, supporting her, studying, being the excellent child she had always been, all the while, the stress eating at her internally, just as it did when she was a mortal child, except now, she ingested blood instead of losing it from an ulcer. Her loyalty was beyond reproach, but Serena became more cruel, if not to Hailey herself, to people around her. Personal injustices and violence becoming more frequent. Hailey spoke up, but was silenced, or ignored. It continued until Hailey saw what she could turn a blind eye to no longer, and she left her cruel sire, but also her best friend...her now successful music career, and easily, her life, should Serena or one of her people find her.

Hailey had finances carefully tucked away in swiss accounts and holdings that Serena couldn't get her vengeful clutches on, and took off to travel Europe for a while, traveling incognito, remaining relatively safe, but so very alone. Finally, she heard through the grapevine, of a city not far from New York, Harrisburg, being taken by Ronin, a man whom she knew only in mention from Draven, who was his close friend. She asked further, careful not to give herself away to potential enemies, and was overjoyed to find out that Draven was associated with the city, and a nightclub there. There was little consideration before buying tickets to home, and Draven, hopes again revived, as she prepared to start another life changing journey...in fact, perhaps beginning a life of her own, for the first time.
